Solutions to known compatibility issues:
-
Recommended. Open "QuietEyeSolutions.exe" in Compatibility Mode.
Find "QuietEyeSolutions.exe" in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Quiet Eye Solutions. Right click on it.
Select: Properties > Compatibility > Compatibility Mode > Check: Run this program in compatibility mode for: > Select: Windows XP(Service Pack 3)
This solves the duplication error.
Under Compatibility mode, the data files and project file: "Info.qes" are stored in the following location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Quiet Eye Solutions
-
Installation: During installation two messages will appear asking you to choose 1. keep existing file, or 2. replace with older file. Choose keep existing file. You do not want to overwrite newer operating system files.
-
It is recommended that you save your data files to your own project folder such as "My Documents/Projects".
-
Alternatively if you have a computer with an older operating system you don't need to use Compatibility Mode.
-
Less recommended.
QES can be run normally under Windows 10 but repeated data, especially in the project file "Info.qes" must be edited manually using Notepad
When running QES normally the operating system re-directs the file location to:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files(x86)\Quiet Eye Solutions
This is a hidden folder and must be made visible. "Info.qes" must remain in this location.
This section may be updated with important notes in the near future. The user manual will also be updated.
It is not as complicated as it looks, but these issues must be understood.
